40 Summer Bucket List Ideas

Summer is upon us and for those of us with school-aged kids, that means we have a house full of kids wondering what they’re going to be doing today (and tomorrow and the next day…)

Creating a summer bucket list with your kids/family is a super fun activity in and of itself but will also provide lots of good ideas for when boredom strikes and/or you want something special to do. Below are some summer bucket list ideas that range anywhere from needing little to no planning to things as big as traveling with your kids.

My suggestion is to get a big poster board and pick whatever amount of items you want to include on your list. Include your kids in this allowing them to decorate the poster, add stickers, or maybe even write out the activities, if they’re able.

I took my kids to a craft store to pick out some stickers, colored paper, and a big poster board. They thought it was such a fun outing and that, on its own, was a fun activity for us that day. We also had a lot of fun brainstorming ideas for our summer bucket list and look forward to checking them off all summer long.

Make a Summer Bucket List

Colored paper cut into rectangles
Stickers
Glue sticks

After grabbing our supplies, I cut out colored paper into smaller strips that would be a good size for writing activities on. Our poster board ending up fitting 24 of those pieces of paper perfectly, so that’s the number we went with for our own summer bucket list.

Once the bucket list items were all glued down, the kids went wild with stickers and other decorations for our poster. It turned out so fun!
