Friday Favorites: Podcast Recommendations

Hello friends! Over the last year and a half or so I've gotten super into podcasts... I listen in the car, while I'm folding laundry, and even while cooking dinner. I have a very diverse list that I subscribe to and wanted to share some of my top picks with y'all today! If you haven't gotten on board with podcasts yet, I highly recommend giving them a try. Hopefully a few of these ideas will land with you and give you a good starting point!

The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey - I have to list this one first because this is the podcast that got me into podcasts! The format is set around the idea of having a happy hour with a friend. Jamie invites female guests on the show and goes through an interview of sorts, but it's very casual and truly feels like a conversation that would happen over coffee (or a margarita! ;)) I absolutely adore this woman and everything she stands for. I suggest starting with Katherine Wolf, Lauren Scruggs Kennedy, Cheryl Scruggs and anything with Jess Connolly!

The Popcast with Knox and Jamie - My absolute favorite "entertainment" podcast out there! Jamie is literally one of the funniest people I've ever listened to and Knox has the best wheezy laugh you'll ever hear. These two talk all things pop culture with hilarious episodes like "Misunderstood Songs and Misheard Lyrics" (cried laughing), "Twins of Pop Culture", and all of their "Nos of" episodes (Love, Weddings, Summer, Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc). If you want to laugh, give these two a listen!

How I Built This - Done by NPR, this one is also an interview type format where you hear the stories of successful business people like the creators of Instagram, Kickstarter, Southwest Airlines, and Warby Parker. SO interesting, especially for those of you who have an interest in business and/or entrepreneurship. The very first episode was with Sara Blakely, creator of Spanx, and remains one of the most popular episodes to date.

Off Camera with Sam Jones - Not sure who Sam Jones is? Neither was I before discovering this podcast. Turns out he's a super famous Hollywood photographer and director who started a show, Off Camera with Sam Jones, as a way to conduct long form conversational interviews. It has since blown up and grown into a magazine and this podcast! He sits down with big time people in Hollywood and is a fantastic interviewer. I recommend starting with Matt Damon's episode.

The Goal Digger Podcast - Another one for all my business savvy folks out there (particularly the business savvy women!) Jenna Kutcher is a social media and marketing guru, as well as being a phenomenal professional photographer. She shares her tips, tricks, and thoughts about all things regarding business and marketing in this podcast. If you're not following Jenna on Instagram, you need to right away! She is one of the most beautiful, smart, encouraging and inspiring people that comes across my feed. I am such a fan and hope you give her podcast a listen and/or track her down on social media.

Marriage Is Funny - IRL couple, Jesse and Gerard Pepper, talk all sorts of hilarity and honesty about the adventure that is marriage. Their episodes swing from funny and endearing to serious and deep and everywhere in between. The Peppers claim that aiming for GREAT love is far better than perfect love and I think they're on to something. As fellow believers, their hearts and thoughts are coming from a place of sincerity, honesty and love for one another and Our Creator. Plus, they make me laugh!

I've also got some sweet friends who are sharing some of THEIR favorites on this happy Friday! Click to check out my gals Arin, Hilary, Jenny, and Stephanie! :)

Buon weekend!
